The Government of Canada is investing $3 million to support small businesses in Prince Edward Island (PEI) through the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency’s (ACOA) Regional Economic Growth through Innovation (REGI) program.
This investment will help create jobs, drive economic growth, and build a more resilient and inclusive economy in PEI.
“Small businesses are the backbone of our economy,” said the Honourable Ginette Petitpas Taylor, Minister of Economic Development and Official Languages. “This investment will help small businesses in PEI innovate, grow, and create jobs.”
The REGI program provides funding to businesses and organizations to support projects that promote economic growth in Atlantic Canada. This investment will support a wide range of projects, including:
- Business development: Providing funding to businesses to help them develop new products and services, improve their operations, and expand into new markets.
- Innovation: Supporting research and development activities that lead to the creation of new products, processes, and technologies.
- Export development: Helping businesses to develop and implement export strategies to access new markets.
“This investment will help small businesses in PEI to create jobs, grow their businesses, and contribute to the economic growth of the province,” said the Honourable Dennis King, Premier of Prince Edward Island.
