A new search engine for GOV.UK
We’re excited to announce the launch of a new search engine for GOV.UK. This new search engine is faster, more accurate, and easier to use than the previous one. It also includes a number of new features, such as:
- Auto-suggest: As you type, the search engine will suggest possible search terms. This can help you to find the information you’re looking for more quickly.
- Search filters: You can use search filters to narrow down your search results by topic, department, or publication date.
- Related searches: After you’ve performed a search, the search engine will display a list of related searches. This can help you to find more information on the topic you’re interested in.
We’ve also made a number of improvements to the way that the search engine indexes GOV.UK content. This means that the search engine is now better able to find the information you’re looking for, even if it’s not in the title or URL of the page.
We’re confident that this new search engine will make it easier for you to find the information you need on GOV.UK. Please give it a try and let us know what you think.
How to use the new search engine
To use the new search engine, simply enter your search term into the search box at the top of any GOV.UK page. The search engine will then display a list of results that match your search term.
You can use the search filters to narrow down your search results. To do this, click on the “Filters” button next to the search box. This will open a menu of search filters. You can use these filters to narrow down your search results by topic, department, or publication date.
After you’ve performed a search, the search engine will display a list of related searches. These related searches can help you to find more information on the topic you’re interested in.
Feedback
We’re always looking for ways to improve GOV.UK. If you have any feedback on the new search engine, please let us know by emailing us at feedback@gov.uk.
