The Government of Canada is now accepting applications for two new funding programs that will support business growth and the adoption of artificial intelligence (AI).
The Business Scale-Up and Productivity (BSP) program provides repayable contributions of up to $10 million to Canadian businesses that are looking to scale up their operations and improve their productivity. The program is open to businesses of all sizes and sectors, and projects can be in any area that will help the business grow, such as marketing, sales, operations, or technology.
The Artificial Intelligence Adoption (AIA) program provides repayable contributions of up to $1 million to Canadian businesses that are looking to adopt AI technologies. The program is open to businesses of all sizes and sectors, and projects can be in any area where AI can be used to improve the business’s operations, such as customer service, product development, or manufacturing.
Both programs are being administered by the National Research Council of Canada Industrial Research Assistance Program (NRC IRAP). Applications for the BSP program are due on May 31, 2023, and applications for the AIA program are due on June 30, 2023.
To be eligible for either program, businesses must meet the following criteria:

- Be incorporated or registered in Canada

- Be in good financial standing
- Have a project that will help the business grow or adopt AI
